On Monday morning, a father and son visiting from out of town were on the second day of a backpacking trip onthe Teton Crest Trail when the father suffered an injury to his leg and was forced to stop.
Other hikers sent out an SOS alert on a Garmin satellite device, which alerted the Teton County Search and Rescue team.
A helicopter flew to the accident site about a half mile south of Sunset Lake and the patient was transferred to a waiting ambulance.
On Sunday afternoon, Teton County Search and Rescue volunteers were paged to respond to another mountain bike accident on Teton Pass.
This time, a 14-year-old male had wrecked while attempting a jump on the Parallel trail. He suffered severe injuries.
This was the second serious bike accident on Teton Pass in just a few days, and TCSAR’s 10th mountain bike rescue response since June 1.
