The 2020 Grand Teton Music Festival is cancelled.
The festival sent a notice out on Wednesday to inform the community saying in part, ” We know how much the community of Jackson Hole loves the Festival, and it’s a matter of deep regret to our musicians, staff and board that we are not able to move forward. However disappointing this news, our first responsibility is to ensure the health and safety of our audiences, musicians, guest artists, staff, and the people of Teton County – and canceling the Festival is, sadly, the only way to do that. However, we are anticipating with great emotion the moment when musicians and audiences will come back together again next summer for GTMF’s 60th Season. A major celebration is planned, and we look forward to seeing you there.”
An online version of the festival called Music from the Mountains will take place this summer. A smaller group of GTMF musicians will come together to record and film three concerts of inspiring music in Walk Festival Hall. The programs will stream online on August 21, 22 and 23, and will appear on TV in the fall.
