Visitors to Yellowstone National Park will be able to participate in a new feature this year: a Native American marketplace and fashion show at Mammoth Hot Springs and Old Faithful Inn. The Tribal Marketplace at Yellowstoneis where Native artists can display and sell their creations and engage with park visitors through discussion and demonstrations.
There will also be a fashion show for the public where several Native fashion designers will showcase their work. In addition to the artists, representatives in attendance will include the American Indian College Fund and the Office of Indian Country Economic Development / Montana Department of Commerce.
While Yellowstone’s history predates humans, its impact on people has been profound throughout the years. The Tribal Marketplace at Yellowstone is intended to celebrate the Native people of the Northern Plains and showcase their art and culture in a place that has provided both spiritual and personal inspiration for them. The event is scheduled on June 10that Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel, and from June 11ththrough the 14that Old Faithful Inn.
