Two helicopters and local resources have been dispatched to a lightning-caused fire in the Little Granite Creek area of Bridger-Teton National Forest. Evan Guzik of Teton Interagency Fire says the report of the fire was made yesterday evening, and the fire currently is active in spots, otherwise smoldering and creeping through aspen stands and mixed conifer.
At this time, Guzik says the fire is seeing moderate spread with no threats to any structures. At this time, the fire involves approximately two acres. Meanwhile, farther south, the Soda Lake Fire west of Big Piney is 100% contained and fire resources are scaling back to be totally in the hands of local firefighters by Friday.
