The Jackson Police Department is greening up its fleet of patrol vehicles with the purchase of four new hybrid-type SUVs this fall.
The department is buying the 2023 Ford Explorer Hybrid SUV vehicles at the cost of 45,294 each and will retrofit them to police standards when they are delivered.
The Town of Jackson awarded the bid to a Cheyenne dealership, Ken Garff Ford, for a total of 181,176.
To equip each patrol vehicle when it arrives, is estimated to take 100 hours per vehicle.
