The Sublette County Sheriffs’ Office is reporting they have received a number of calls about a new scam in that County. The current scam involves calls that are being made from people claiming to be Microsoft support who want to work on your Microsoft products. Sometimes they specify the Microsoft Outlook program. The caller requests remote access to the computer to do this work and requests payment via Apple or Google Play gift cards. Sheriff’s officers warn those receiving the calls, DO NOT allow these people access to your computer or give them any sort of payment. No legitimate I-T support company, especially Microsoft, would call to solicit access to your computer nor request to be paid by anything other than debit/credit card or cash/check in person.
