It’s New Year’s Eve, and in Jackson Hole, that means fireworks at the ski resorts. The Snow King Torchlight Parade is back this year. Participation is for expert skiers only this year and there will be no access to the lodge room to limit indoor gathering.
Participants should meet outside the lodge room between 6:00-6:30pm and should fill out their winter activities waiver in advance online. The torchlight parade begins about 7:00 pm and fireworks will begin at approximately 7:30pm.
Across the valley, a glow worm and torchlight parade will precede fireworks at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. For the kids glow sticks are substituted for torch lights and will load participants the Sweetwater Gondola from 4:45-5:15. The parade will start at 5:30 pm, and kids will finish at the base of Sweetwater Gondola.
Participation is free and sign up is not required. The Torchlight Parade will begin shortly after the Glow Worm parade reaches the Sweetwater Gondola, at approximately 6:15, and fireworks will follow the torchlight parade.
West of the pass, a children’s torchlight parade precedes the adult torchlight parade at Grand Targhee Resort, with participating kids reporting to the ski school by 4:15 pm to receive their glow sticks.
Adults will be organized at the ski school at 4:45 pm and issued highway flares for the parade down the mountain at 5:40 pm. Fireworks will follow those parades.
