Number One Broncs In Playoffs After Win in Powell

It was defense that ruled the night last Friday as the conference’s top offense faced off against the best defense.
Jackson squeezed out the 21-14 win thanks to three Powell turnovers on fumbles and two thrilling TD catches by Sam Lopeman—who also recovered one of those Panther fumbles. It wasn’t easy. The Broncs took all but the final minute of the first half to get its first score, and the final game-winning touchdown didn’t come until 55 seconds remaining in the game.
Star Jackson rusher Brody Hasenack was reduced to a non-factor as Powell stacked the box in an attempt to make sure #2 did not become a difference-maker. Jackson instead relied on Sadler Smith’s legs and arm to move the football. Pass plays to Sam Scott and Colter Dawson, as well as option keepers by Smith helped move the ball just enough to get Jackson on the board.
The win moves Jackson to 7-1 on the season and undefeated in conference play. It means Jackson secures a berth in the postseason, and guarantees they will be at home throughout the playoffs which will be broadcast on KZ95 and KZ95.live
