Jackson Hole Community Foundation President Laurie Andrews announced the results of this year’s Old Bill’s Fun Run for Charities Monday afternoon. However, rather than doing it in the familiar way at a gathering of non-profit representatives at the National Museum of Wildlife Art, Andrews made the announcement virtually via social media.
Andrews said, “This year was a special year as it was a milestone birthday for Mr. Old Bill; and board and past board came together to raise over $200-thousand as a gift to him as a co-challenger. This year, we raised one of the largest co-challenger funds, between the co-challengers and the friends of the match – we raised just over $3.5-million.”
The individual donations from the community, yielded $11,814,041 in gifts designated specifically for participating organizations, which added to the match totaled $15,314,287. Over the last twenty-four years, Old Bill’s has provided a grand total of $189,034,823 to nonprofits in Teton County. The individual checks need to be picked up by representatives of the non-profits through the day today at their individually assigned times. Andrews also announced the first Spirit of Old Bills Award, honoring individuals who share ideas and work tirelessly and mentor the next generation of community leaders. The recipients of the first award are Julie Giacobassi and Zach Hall.
