The lobby of the National Museum of Wildlife Art was filled with Jackson Hole’s movers and shakers as the representatives of the community’s 210 non-profits and charitable institutions awaited to learn the results of last September’s fun run for charities. Katherine Conover noted that this year’s donors numbered about 4012, which together with the challengers yielded a record sum to be distributed.
“Just to refresh your memories, last year we raised 13-million-316-thousand-364. This year we raised $14-million-381-thousand-191 dollars. In other words, over a million dollars more” Conover said.
Of that total, $3-million-464-thousand-two was raised by 69 challengers along with a host of co-challengers. That enabled a 45% match for every dollar raised by the participating organizations. Conover went on to note that over the 23 years of Old Bills Fun Run, the event has raised a grand total of $173-million-720-thousand-537 for the valley’s non-profit organizations. Specifically, she said Mr. and Mrs. “Old Bill” who launched the event have contributed over a 11.5-million dollars over the past 23 years.
