While iconic lodges in both Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks are expected to be closed this summer, the management companies for each say there is still a possibility some may be opened if there is significant change in the national health situation. In a recent news release Xanterra Parks and Resorts stated, “given the fluid situation, our current plans, dates, and service levels are subject to change based on the situations and circumstances that develop in the future.” As such, the company is now holding out the possibility that Old Faithful Inn, Grant Village and Roosevelt Lodge may open in 2020 under the right circumstances. In Grand Teton National Park, Vail Resorts Management Company had added the caveat in announcing their limited openings this year, stating, “Additional operations may open later in the season if current restrictions are lifted or loosened.”
