The parents of Gabriella Petito, whose remains were found near the Spread Creek Campground near Moran September 19th, have filed a lawsuit against the parents of her accused murderer, Brian Laundre claiming Laundrie had told his parents he killed her before he returned home alone. The lawsuit was filed Thursday in Sarasota County Circuit Court in Florida.
Petito’s disappearance on the trip she and Laundrie had taken in a converted van, and the subsequent finding of her slain body on the Bridger-Teton National Forest became a national obsession, later augmented by the search for Laundrie in a Florida swamp which turned up his own remains in October, the result of an apparent suicide.
