Visitation to Yellowstone National Park picked up between June 11th and 16th with the count at 75% of what was recorded at the same time last year – and the Wyoming entrances seeing 87% by comparison. Meanwhile, for the third week in a row of conducting COVID-19 surveillance testing on Yellowstone employees, all tests came back negative. However, a contractor working on a construction project in the park has tested positive. That individual reported symptoms at the job site, was isolated, tested outside of the park and does not live in the park. Contact tracing is being conducted by health officials, who at this point have not identified any close contacts with park employees or visitors. He was not tested as part of the Yellowstone employee testing program. Moving forward, the park will continue to test employees in partnership with both Montana and Wyoming.
