Visitor statistics show Wyoming’s two iconic national parks have started of the year with strong visitation. Yellowstone National Park reports a 5.2% increase in overall visitation for January, and a 16% increase for recreational visits specifically. Altogether 90,285 people entered the park either for leisure or business during the month. In Grand Teton National park, overall visitation climbed by 2.3% last month with most of those visits for recreation. Park officials report that more than 2300 additional recreation visits were seen this year compared with last January. A total of 56,635 were in the park for recreation.
