The Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation Department has officially switched over to 7-day week winter operations. There have been many questions regarding grooming and ice rinks. Unfortunately, the snowpack rapidly deteriorated and thinned during the warmer temperatures after the storm. Ice rinks will still see a tentative start December 15th. A sooner start will be announced on the Parks and Rec website. To establish the outdoor rinks, a good base and cold temperatures are required and the current setup isn’t there yet. Grooming also needs the colder temperatures and more snow before packing and grooming can begin. Cache Creek and Emily Steven’s are skier packed and should do OK for classic skiing. Updates on grooming and ice rinks can be found at tetonparksandrec.org/
