The Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation Department has officially switched to operations 7 days a week. As of Wednesday, both Owen Bircher and Fairgrounds ice rinks are up and running. Staff has come up with a plan to open Powderhorn Ice rink as conditions and resources allow, although it will take a little longer to get up and running and will be low on the priority list for maintenance during large or prolonged snow events. Another 2 to 4 inches of snow is needed before construction of that rink can begin. More snow is also needed to begin grooming cross country trails. In addition to the normal grooming schedule and locations, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Teton Village Association will groom the pathway section of Highway 390 this year from Lake Creek to the Village. They also need more snow to begin that operation.
