This is the time of year Town of Jackson street crews plow snow back ONTO streets in Jackson. It’s done in preparation for the start of the annual International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race through town. Assistant Public Works Director Johnny Ziem says crews will begin construction of the racecourse early Friday morning. The work will mean that Broadway will be closed from Cache Street to Willow Street, and Center Street will also be closed from Broadway Avenue to Deloney Avenue beginning at approximately 10:00 am. Race festivities are set to begin at the Town Square at 5:00pm on Friday with the dog sled race officially kicking off at 6:30 pm when the first mushers leave the starting chute. It is anticipated that the streets will reopen by 9:00 pm.
