Pets Partner With Passengers

Teton County Pet Partners and the Jackson Hole Airport have entered a partnership to provide animal therapy to travelers. George, Penny, Butterball, Jip, Hazel or any of the other wonderful animal therapy dogs, will visit the airport during peak traffic times to help ease stress, and welcome newcomers (and those coming home!) to Jackson. Airport Board President, Rick Braun says the airport has already witnessed the positive impacts the dogs and their handlers have had on the traveling public. Therapy dogs in airports have become increasingly popular in recent years, meaning more passengers throughout the U.S. and the world are benefiting from the calming effects of therapy animals (cats and even pigs are employed nowadays). The number of programs is jumping, both in numbers and in countries. Among the airports with similar programs are LAX in Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale, Buffalo/Niagra International Airport, Sacramento International Airport, and Denver International Airport.
