Phil Baux Park and Snow King ballfield and playground area will be closed Saturday for part of the day while towers for the new gondola are being set by helicopter. Those areas will remain closed until late morning or early afternoon due to safety concerns brought on by the helicopter activity. Snow King Mountain Resort will be coordinating the closures and signage and adjusting those as the work moves uphill and away from the base of the mountain. The eight-person gondola is expected to be completed by the winter season. The gondola replaces the popular Summit Chair Lift which has been in place since its last update in the 1980s. Meanwhile, the Snow King restroom is closed for the rest of the season due to sewer and water impacts.
