The 2022 Karen Oatey Pole, Pedal, Paddle race takes place Saturday, beginning at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort at 7:00 am. Since 1975, the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club’s Pole Pedal Paddle has served as the harbinger of spring and a way for Jackson Hole locals and visitors to enjoy the wonders of the valley via a multi-sport race.
Costumed participants race from the slopes of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort to the Snake River Canyon as part of a team or individually. The five legs include an alpine ski/snowboard race, a running leg, a cross-country ski leg, a cycling leg, and a river paddle.
The event culminates at Astoria Hot Springs Park for the annual post-event celebration, which is open to the community. A virtual PPP racer meeting / Q&A session is set for today (Thursday) at 5:30 pm, with the link available at jhskiclub.org/polepedalpaddle.
