The Board of Directors and the leadership staff of the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club have canceled the 45th Annual Rendezvous River Sports Karen Oatey Pole Pedal Paddle, scheduled for April 4th to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 “Coronavirus.” This year’s Snake River Sporting Club Awards Ceremony was set to be an enhanced celebration of Karen Oatey’ life on the fifth anniversary of her passing and the subsequent establishment of a scholarship endowment in her name. The PPP is a major component in raising funds for the Scholarship Endowment Fund: With the endowment now firmly in place, JHSC has increased annual need-based scholarships from $50,000 in 2015, to over $100,000 from 2017 to present. This represents awarding over 80 total need-based scholarships versus just 47 in that same timespan. The Club is looking for alternate ways to celebrate these achievements and generate more support for scholarships and the endowment later this spring and into the summer.
