Police Look For Answers in Bar Fight

February 10, 2021 by Jackson Hole Radio

Police Get Bias Training

Jackson Police are trying to determine what caused a significant bar-fight to break out Sunday night at the Whole Bowl on Broadway.
Officers of the Jackson Police Department along with Deputies of the Teton County Sheriff’s Office and Jackson Fire/EMS personnel responded to the Hole Bowl restaurant to investigate a fight in progress about 11:00 pm Sunday.
The scene was chaotic, and one person was arrested on-scene by the police department for criminal provocation as he continued to be combative. A few of the participants received major injuries.
On-scene officers were left with conflicting versions of events from the participants. Detectives of the Jackson Police resumed their investigation Monday morning with more interviews and collecting evidence.
There was no video evidence from inside or outside of the establishment. Detectives determined that while multiple punches were thrown, they are concentrating on two individuals involved in the melee; one of whom allegedly struck another male in the back of the head with either a beer bottle or glass mug.
The victim suffered a serious laceration as a result. The Police Department wants to talk to anyone who was at the Hole Bowl before, during, or after the fight in order to understand just what happened. Detective Sergaent Russ Ruschill says it does not appear that the fracas was related in any way to the Super Bowl that concluded earlier the same evening.
