There are contested partisan primary races for both Democrats and Republicans in this election with three seats on the Teton County Board of Commissioners, four Republicans are on the primary ballot with Peter Long, Alex Muromcew, Tom Segerstrom and Kasey Mateosky. Incumbent commissioners Luther Probst and Mark Newcomb are uncontested Democrats running in the primary.
Democrats Mel Shinkle and Zane Aukee are running for Teton County Assessor.
In the race for Clerk of District Court, Anne Comeaux Sutton is being challenged Brian Hultman, both Democrats.
For Teton County’s House District 23, Democrats Liz Storer and Ryan Sedgeley are competing to see who will oppose Republican Paul Vogelheim in the general election.
On the ballot for the Jackson Town Council,
Incumbents Jonathan Schechter and Arne Jorgensen are joined by Katherine “Kat” Rueckert, Devon Viehman, Elliott R. Alston, Joel Smith, and David Scheurn on the ballot for two seats.
Congresswoman Liz Cheney is in a very high-profile race against challenger Harriet Hageman.
The race has garnered massive national attention and reporters from around the country have come to Wyoming to watch this contest come to a close between opponents and supporters of former President Donald Trump.
Trump has endorsed Hageman and denounced Cheney for voting to impeach him and leading efforts of the January 6thcommittee in congress.
A recent poll from the University of Wyoming showed Hageman with a big advantage. The race has encouraged a large number of party crossovers with Democrat and Independent voters switching parties to support Cheney.
In the race for Wyoming Secretary of State, Wyoming Senator and Cheyenne attorney Tara Nethercott is facing off against Trump-endorsed Wyoming representative Chuck Gray.
