Even as the public is only now recovering from a contentious election season late last year, at least one candidate is lining up to be on the ballot for the mid-term election in November of 2022.
Rex Rammell announced that he plans to run for Wyoming Governor against Governor Mark Gordon in the Republican primary. The Rock Springs Republican criticized Gordon for not defending the state’s minerals industry against concerns about global warming.
Rammell says his campaign will center on seizing federal lands within Wyoming’s borders from the U.S. government as a means of avoiding the economic fallout from the Biden administration’s pause on federal oil and gas leasing.
In the past, Rammell has run unsuccessful races for the Wyoming Statehouse, governor, U.S. House and U.S. Senate in Wyoming and Idaho.
