It was a record Independence Day Weekend in Yellowstone National Park last weekend. Parkwide vehicle entries through the Fourth of July weekend showed an 8% increase over the same weekend in 2019. 2021 was compared to 2019 instead of 2020 because of COVID-19.
Altogether, 46,845 visits were recorded in Yellowstone from July 2ndthrough July 5th, with the busiest day recorded being Monday July 5thwhen there were 12,825 people in the park.
Park officials advise that these are the busy months in the park and if you plan to travel to Yellowstone this summer, plan ahead, expect crowding and recreate responsibly to protect yourself and the park.
