The National Elk Refuge has some friends in high places – 30,000 feet high, for that matter. Peopleon a Delta flight this month will find in the pages of the airline’s Sky Magazine a prominent article about the National Elk Refuge and the sleigh ride program. The article is accompanied by a half-page color picture of the wintering elk on the refuge with the snow-covered Tetons in the background. Refuge Spokesperson Lori Iverson says the publication worked with the refuge in getting this high-exposure piece just right.
Though reservations aren’t required for a sleigh ride, it’s a good idea over the holidays when ridership is at its peak. Guests should plan to arrive at the Jackson Hole & Greater Yellowstone Visitor Center 30 minutes before their scheduled ride to allow time to check in at the sleigh ride desk.
