It’s winter on the National Elk Refuge again and that means the refuge’s popular horse-drawn sleigh rides are about to begin again. Refuge Spokesperson Lori Iverson says the sleigh season begins this Saturdayand operate daily through early April.
Participants purchase sleigh ride tickets at the visitor center and are transported on a free shuttle bus to the sleigh boarding area three miles north of Jackson. Sleigh rides typically last an hour. Iverson says another popular program is “Feathered Fridays” conducted in partnership with the Teton Raptor Center.
The free programs, offered each Friday from 12:00-2:00 pm, will run weekly from December 21st through March 29th.
