The empty store recently vacated by Lucky’s Market will soon have a new tenant. REI Co-op has announced it will open its first Wyoming store in Jackson in summer 2021, bringing a wide assortment of quality outdoor gear, experiences and expertise for the region’s most popular outdoor activities. A news release issued by the corporation, announced that the new 15,000-square-foot store will be located at the Powderhorn Mall location, and include a full-service bike and ski and snowboard shop for maintenance and repairs. REI regional director Janet Hopkins says, “Jackson is the ideal place to serve our more than 41,000 lifetime members in Wyoming and the millions of people who adventure in the region every year.” While the store in Jackson will be the co-op’s first retail location in Wyoming, REI’s adventure travel company has offered guided multi-day hiking, kayaking and family trips in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks for more than a decade. REI is a member-owned co-op, offering top-quality gear, expertise and experiences to connect people to a life outdoors.
