Teton County Idaho Search and Rescue responded to the Mahogany Creek area Saturday where 2 timber sledders were in need of assistance.
The converted motor bikes became stuck, and after hours of digging until dark, the wet and tired bikers who were without proper gear to travel in deep snow, called for help.
Fifteen team members responded to the call and a forward operations team responded to the trailhead. Shortly after 8:30 pm, a hasty team of three on snowmobiles located the stranded subjects and transported them to the trail head.
The rescue team leaders urge anyone traveling by snowmobile or timber sled that carrying the gear needed get out is crucial as walking in deep snow is very difficult.
