With Teton County’s ban on plastic bags taking effect Monday, Teton County Solid Waste and Recycling has announced a schedule for the distribution of free reusable bags to be used when shopping at the local grocery stores, retailers and special events. According to Carrie Bell Integrated Solid Waste and Recycling Outreach Coordinator, bags will be distributed at Smiths and Whole Grocer between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm Thursday and Friday and Lucky’s from 4:00 until 6:00 pm Thursday. Bags will also be distributed at Smiths, and Kmart beginning at 11:00 am Saturday. Distributions will take place at the various stores through next week as well. Bags will be handed out at the Easter Egg Hunt April 20th and other community events later in the month. As of Monday, the newly-adopted bag ban will require shoppers to bring in their own reusable bags when they shop for groceries, or paper bags will be available for purchase, generally costing 99-cents
