On May 16, 2025, Idaho State Police (ISP) responded to a report of a vehicle driving erratically on U.S. Highway 26 near 175th East in Bonneville County, Idaho, with a missing tire. The driver, later identified as Trevor A. Clark, 34, of Ririe, pulled over, exited the vehicle, and fled into a nearby field. ISP located the unoccupied vehicle at 10:02 p.m., with the engine still running, and found Clark at 10:23 p.m., armed with a rifle and making suicidal statements, leading to a standoff. The Bonneville County SWAT team assisted, and Clark surrendered without incident at 12:02 a.m. on May 17.
Clark was booked into the Bonneville County Jail, facing charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and assault on a peace officer. The incident underscores ongoing efforts by ISP and local law enforcement to ensure public safety in response to erratic behavior and armed threats.
