Repairs under the road south of Mammoth will require a portion of the road to be closed for a time today. From 8:00 am until noon, the road between the Upper and Lower Terraces in Mammoth Hot Springs will close while crews replace a culvert from a major water line break that occurred on August 14th. For the duration of the closure, motorists will have access to the Lower Terraces but will not be able to travel south to Norris. Visitors traveling north from Norris will be able to access the Upper Terraces but will not be able to travel farther north into Mammoth Hot Springs. Park officials say the road could reopen earlier if the repairs are finished before noon.
