Teton County, the Town of Jackson, and the lunch Rotary Club of Jackson Hole will host Spring Clean Up Week from May 5 to May 10, 2025, encouraging residents to tidy yards and neighborhoods while promoting sustainable composting. Free compostable brown bags will be available starting May 1 at Jackson Town Hall, Public Works Administration, and the Recycling Center, though their use is optional and supplies are limited. Residents can drop off grass clippings, leaves, and garden trimmings for free composting at the Teton County Trash Transfer Station from May 5 to May 10, with hours Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., limited to 500 pounds per household. A one-day drop-off event is set for May 9 at the Teton County Fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Rotary Club’s Spring Clean Up Day on May 10 invites volunteers to gather at Phil Baux Park at 8 a.m. for coffee, snacks, and supplies to clean parks, pathways, and waterways. Those unable to attend can sign up for cleanups during May 4–10 by emailing [email protected]. Year-round composting is available at the Trash Transfer Station for $98 per ton, offering a cost-effective alternative to landfill disposal. The initiative, supported by sponsors like Westbank Sanitation and Arbor Works Organics, aims to reduce landfill waste and produce nutrient-rich compost. More details are available at TetonCountyWY.gov/Compost or by calling 307-733-7678.
