The sound of ringing bells will soon be a regular experience for those entering several of Jackson’s stores beginning this weekend. It is again time for the annual community fundraiser being conducted in a partnership between the Rotary Club of Jackson Hole and The Salvation Army to raise funds that will meet the needs of people who live in the Jackson Area. Each year, the familiar red Salvation Army Kettles are attended by between 200 and 300 local volunteers including people from service clubs like Kiwanis and Rotary, Jackson District Boy Scouts, churches like St. John’s Episcopal Church and Presbyterian Church of Jackson Hole, and local businesses. All the money raised remains in the community. This year’s Red Kettle chairman Abel Gonzales says those interested in volunteering a few hours of their time between now and Christmas are encouraged to contact him at (928) 707-1780. Kettle locations this year are in front of Albertson’s K-Mart, Smiths and Jackson Whole Grocer.
