The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reports they recently received several complaints from citizens receiving “Robocalls” where citizens received over 10-12 phone calls within a couple of hours on their land line phone numbers. Curiously, these calls display the phone numbers and names of those receiving the calls on their caller IDs, which would indicate they are calling themselves. The scam artists identify themselves as being with Microsoft and need the individual’s IP address so they can repair a technical problem with their computer. Law officials caution, DO NOT provide any information to these individuals. The best course of action if you should receive one of these “Robocalls” they advise is to report it to the FCC and get in touch with your land line carrier to investigate and or block the calls coming in.
