The Wyoming Highway Patrol has recently been notified of a phone call scam that is circulating. Scammers are contacting the public and claiming to be either be a member of the Wyoming Highway Patrol or the Wyoming Highway Patrol Association. In multiple calls, the caller identified himself as “John” and called from a “307” phone number. “John” told the targeted victim that if the victim did not contribute and get a sticker, the next time the highway patrol stopped him, he would get a ticket. In a recent call, “John” initially called and left a message, but did eventually speak to a targeted victim, and made the claim. It should go without saying that these claims are false.
