The Teton County, Idaho sheriff’s office has had multiple calls Tuesday stating that citizens of that county have been receiving phone calls from the official 208-354-2323 sheriff’s office number. The caller is stating that they have a warrant out for the arrest of the recipient of the call, and if they don’t pay, they will be arrested within 24 hours. In fact, the sheriff’s office does not call you if you have a warrant. Sheriff’s officers urge you not to give out your personal information to someone over the phone, including credit card numbers or social security numbers. They also recommend speaking with your families and let them know that these scammers are calling with the department’s local number.
