School Opening Final Decision This Week

The Teton County School District #1 Board of Education will consider a final decision for this fall’s reopening of school in Jackson Hole during their public meeting Wednesday evening. Given the recent fluctuation in the number of positive cases, the district has stated that it is working very hard to develop options that will allow for a reduction in the number of students in the school buildings at one time, while at the same time trying honor parent requests for face to face, onsite instruction or possibly some level of virtual instruction. In their statement on Facebook, the district says, “This is very complex and challenging work. All plans will be shared with the Teton County Department of Health and Dr. Riddell for feedback and adjustments to support the health and safety of students and staff.” Those options will be presented to the Board of Education on Wednesday evening at their regular public meeting where the final plans will be shared. Once the official plans are adopted, the school district will share the details with families.
