Teton County School District is facing a problem of overcrowding anticipated at Jackson Hole Middle School in the near future. Options to deal with the situation will be presented at Wednesday’s meeting of the school board in the form of a capacity study being undertaken. The options under consideration range from short-term repurposing of space, schedule adjustments and better circulation of students around the school, to a more aggressive capital construction project which would require legislative approval for the state’s capital construction program. Some construction alternatives may also be possible through SPET funding. A planning team has put together 16 specific options for long-range solutions. Their capacity study will be considered as part of the School Board’s consent agenda during the Wednesday night meeting.
