Schools Set To Reopen With Choices for Parents

When schools in Jackson Hole open September first, they will be at the Tier II level which means the district is planning for face to face learning while also providing online options for families who are not comfortable having their students return to onsite learning then.  Those who are comfortable sending their sons and daughters to school starting September first may select option one, which is daily attendance. Those with concerns about their children attending school on site may select option two, which is a hybrid option that would allow face to face and Classroom Based Virtual Education.
Meanwhile, those who still have significant concerns about their students returning at any point during the first semester, or possibly the entire school year may select option three which is virtual (or online) education. Meanwhile, Teton County School District #1 continues to monitor the current level of COVID-19 in the community and the potential impacts the increasing number of cases may have on plans for opening. As the planning efforts proceed, the district has distributed an attendance model request form for each student to determine parents’ preferences. The form is posted online and should be returned by this Thursday.
