Schools to meet on masks

Teton County Wyoming School District #1 has not yet decided about whether students will be required to wear masks when they return to classes.
In a letter to the parents yesterday, Superintendent Gillian Chapman said that determination will be made later, but she is not prepared right now to recommend universal masking. There will be a special meeting August 25th to discuss the matter.
Chapman said, “What we know right now is that per federal regulations, masks are required while riding on a school bus; so we know that part of the day, bus riders and activities participants will be wearing masks.”
Chapman also encouraged all Teton County School District Teachers to get vaccinated if they have not already done so.
The first day of school for the 2021/2022 school year is August 30th.
