Seventy-seven volunteers including both boy and girl scouts from around the valley fanned out around Jackson neighborhoods to collect donated food for the local food cupboard. Possibly owing to a COVID-weary community, not as much food was collected in this year’s drive than in past years. Amy Brooks, who coordinated the drive for the cupboard, says the event yielded about 150 cases containing some 4500 items for the cupboard shelves. She says that may last until the end of the year. In the meantime, donation bins are located at the front of area grocery stores and scout leaders are picking up food from them in the next few weeks. Efforts by the volunteers Saturday were supported with tables loaned by Teton Rental, Hot Cocoa donated by McDonalds, and breakfast bagels donated by Pearl Street Bagels.
