Teton County Solid Waste and Recycling is scrapping its scrap metal bin at the recycling center. The large scrap metal bin at the Recycling Center will be removed on Friday, April 2nd.
Small, residential scrap metal recycling will still be available for drop-off at the Recycling Center, during office hours.
Large loads or items, commercial loads, and all appliances must be taken to the Trash Transfer Station for drop-off during open hours. Scrap metal drop-off is free at both locations.
Apparently, there have been too many incidents of people dumpster diving to recover items they wanted to salvage, which is a liability concern for the facility.
