Tip Top Search and Rescue, Sublette County Sheriff’s Office, and Wyoming Game and Fish are continuing their search on Fremont Lake, north of Pinedale, for a local man, Rick De Ruiter Zylker, who was last seen on Wednesday afternoon while swimming with co-workers and friends.
Sublette County Sheriff KC Lehr said that he has received numerous calls to assist in the search but has enough volunteers.
Searchers have been utilizing side-scan sonar in their efforts by towing a device called a Tow Fish which is pulled on a cable to try to get close to the lake bottom.
The Sheriff explained that dive teams are unable to operate in the lake as water depths are from 150 to 300 feet where pressure would be well over 100 pounds per square inch and temperatures at that depth would be in the 30s.
Because of these issues the rescue team is equipped with an underwater remote operated vehicle or.
Search Captain and Tip Top Search and Rescue volunteer John Linn and his team have covered an area approximately 1,800ft by 2,500ft and will resume the search today.
The Upper Fremont Lake Boat Dock is open to the public. They ask that anyone headed to the inlet, stay toward the west end of the lake when approaching Moosehead Bay and try and keep your wake at a minimum.
Lehr offered thanks to the community for their support and understanding
