Yellowstone National Park is reporting that the first wildfire of the year in the park was reported by some hikers along on the Sevenmile Hole trail Wednesday. The lightning-caused fire is located three miles east of Canyon Village, near the Yellowstone River and is estimated to be less than a tenth of an acre. The fire is smoldering on a steep rocky slope and is not accessible by foot. Since it does not pose any threat to people or property, the fire will be monitored from the canyon rim by firefighters for now.
