A second abortion provider has just opened in Wyoming. For years, Jackson has been the only town in Wyoming with abortion access. However, Casper has just opened a clinic called Wellspring Health Access that will offer abortions, family planning, and gynecological services. It will be the only clinic in the state to offer surgical abortions and will also provide other procedures depending on new laws and regulations.
The clinic has had to confront many obstacles in their opening, including an intentional fire that was set at the clinic. 22-year-old Lorna Green caused $290,000 in damages with the fire and was charged with arson after the incident.
Also accessible at the clinic will be several types of contraception, the morning-after pill, well woman exams, obstetrician referrals, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections and diseases, treatment for HIV/AIDS, pap smears and pelvic exams.
