The Teton Range Bighorn Sheep Working Group, in partnership with the University of Wyoming’s Ruckelshaus Institute, is engaging in a collaborative learning process to explore ways to balance the winter habitat needs of Teton Range bighorn sheep and backcountry winter recreation. To that end, the groups are seeking public input at three public meetings in Jackson. The first on February 13th will focus on bighorn sheep ecology, the perspective of recreationists, and potential conceptual solutions. The second on March 5th will seek the public’s help in developing geographic or place-based solutions. Finally, the meeting on April 9th will present draft recommendations, obtain public input, and refine them accordingly. All three meetings will be conducted at Snow King Resort in Jackson.
