The Jackson Broncs Alpine Ski Teams traveled to Laramie and Casper over the last few weeks. At the Laramie Invitational, both the boys and girls teams were able to start the season with 1st place finishes. The Broncs’ Nicholas Janssen grabbed the top spot in the Slalom and Grand Slalom for the boys. Fin Hutchinson was 2nd. No Lady Broncs were able to handle Cody’s McKinley Rose, who won the Slalom and Gland Slalom, but Jackson Hole girls rounded out the rest of the top five. In Casper, the girls took four of the top five Slalom spots, and all five of the Grand Slalom finishers at the Bruce Studer Memorial Invitational Race at Hogadon Basin were Lady Broncs. It was the Sophie Show for Jackson in the Slalom—the dominant Sophie Morgan took the top spot on the podium in both Slalom and Grand Slalom, followed by Sophie Parker and Sophie Delahaye, with Sidney Nash securing 2nd in both the Slalom and the GS. The boys were again led by Janssen, who won the Slalom race and helped the team get past Cody in a squeaker, 99-98.
