Members of Teton County Search and Rescue were called about 2:00 pm Saturday to help transport an injured skier from near Ski Lake just off Phillips Ridge to a waiting ambulance on Teton Pass. Undersheriff Matt Carr says the 36-year-old man, who he declined to identify, was transported to St. John’s Medical Center for treatment. Carr says this is the second such injury of the season already. He says with the early, shallow snowfall, there are a variety of objects that are buried not far under the snow which can be hit by the skier, potentially leading to injury. Carr urges those who are going out this early in the season to be very cautious in their activity.
