Skijoring Events This Weekend

The 2019 Jackson Hole Skijoring Event will take place this weekend at the Teton County Fairgrounds on Saturday, January 12, and Sunday, January 13, 2019.
There will be various events and competitions throughout the weekend, with a registration party at Sidewinders Smokehouse and Tavern (945 W. Broadway) from 5:00-8:00pm. In addition, an online registration form is available.
The full weekend schedule is as follows:

  • Friday, January 11
  • Kick Off / Registration Party at Sidewinders Smokehouse & Tavern 945 W. Broadway from 5 PM – 8 PM.
  • Saturday, January 12
  • Gates open at 11 AM. Races start at NOON – 3 PM. Gates close at 3:30 PM.
  • Event Party at The Hole Bowl 980 W. Broadway from 6 PM to close.
  • Sunday, January 13
  • Gates open at 11 AM. Races start at NOON – 3 PM. Gates close at 3:30 PM.
  • Awards Party at The Virginian Lodge 750 W. Broadway at 6 PM or earlier if possible.

The race will be run in the SkijorUSA-sanctioned 3D format. Race fees will be $100.00/team for a full weekend and $75.00 for a single day. There is also a Youth Division at $25.00 per team/day, paying day-money. All participants are welcome.
The track layout is a 650-foot gradual arc with a 450-foot straight run-out and continuing along another gentle arc. Horse stalls and competitor parking are located on the Fairgrounds. Stall fees are $20.00 night and access to the indoor warm-up arena will be available. On-site camping with hook-ups is also available for a fee.
This is a family-friendly event, with vendor tents, food and drinks. A $10 gate fee will be charged ($20 for families of 3 or more) and a portion of proceeds will benefit The Shrine Hospitals for Children in Salt Lake City, Utah.
